Who is responsible

DadCrew is the data controller for DadCrew. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@dadcrew.se.

What we collect

We collect your email address and the profile details you provide: confirmation that you are at least 18, first name, age, postcode, approximate area, travel radius, children's ages, spoken languages, whether Swedish is needed when children attend, interests, meetup goals, desired meetup frequency, availability, kids preference, preferred activities, and whether occasional paid or farther-away activities suit you. We look up an approximate locality and postcode-centre coordinate from your postcode to check whether every proposed Crew has a realistic shared meeting area. We do not collect or infer your exact home location. We also store current and previous Crew membership, private departure feedback, Crew lifecycle history, candidate and Crew-to-Crew introductions, private membership decisions, meetup proposals, time votes, RSVPs, meetup feedback, optional reported attendees, email delivery/action events, safety reports, authentication sessions, and basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

We record recent service activity such as responding to or creating meetups, confirmed attendance, post-meetup responses, and last activity time. These internal signals help us understand whether people want similar levels of social activity. They are not a public score and are not used to label anyone a good or bad member. Email analytics record delivery and completed DadCrew actions without invasive open tracking.

We do not ask for surnames, exact home addresses, children's names, schools, children's photos, or exact birth dates. DadCrew is for adult users; children do not create accounts. If a new user tells us they are under 18, we immediately delete the account rather than create a matching profile.

Why we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, match nearby dads into compatible Crews, show your limited profile to your Crew, organize meetups, send service emails, handle safety concerns, provide support, prevent misuse, and measure whether Crews meet repeatedly.

We process the information needed to provide the service under our agreement with you. We use legitimate interests where necessary to keep DadCrew safe, improve matching, understand aggregate service performance, and protect the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Who can see it

Other active members of your Crew can see your first name, age, approximate area, children's ages, interests, availability, and relevant Crew activity. A proposed introduction shows the same limited profile to that Crew. Members cannot see your email address, exact address, private departure reason, internal activity metrics, or who cast an individual membership vote. DadCrew administrators can access information when needed for matching, support, safety, and service operation. Safety reports are visible only to authorized administrators and the person making a report is not identified to the reported member through DadCrew.

Service providers and links

We use Railway for application and database hosting and Resend for transactional email. These providers process information for us under their own security and data-processing terms. A Crew may have an optional WhatsApp group link. Opening it takes you to WhatsApp, whose own privacy policy applies; DadCrew does not send your profile information to WhatsApp.

Where a provider processes information outside the EU/EEA, we require an applicable transfer safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is active and only as long afterwards as needed for safety, legal obligations, dispute handling, and reliable aggregate meetup measurement. Authentication links expire after 15 minutes and sessions expire after 30 days unless ended sooner. Deactivating an account ends active sessions and removes you from your Crew, but it is not the same as erasure. Contact us to request deletion; we will erase or anonymize information unless we must retain a limited record for a legal or safety reason.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, leave a Crew, and deactivate your account in DadCrew. You may also ask us to access, correct, erase, restrict, or provide a portable copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY, at imy.se.

Security and emergencies

We use access controls, database-backed sessions, limited Crew visibility, and encrypted HTTPS connections in production. No online service can promise absolute security. Please report suspected misuse through DadCrew. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112; DadCrew is not an emergency service.

Changes

We may update this policy as DadCrew develops. Material changes will be shown in the service or sent by email, and the date above will be updated.
